This had nothing to do with religion… like I never mentioned Muslims in the original post. It was about the brown people I know who use bodnas/lotas/bidets on the reg. as opposed to the white people around me who overwhelmingly use only toilet paper. So I don’t really know why you were so offended to begin with.

I really don’t care about the rest of your post because you just used your sexuality as a way to garner my sympathy, and hence equated race and sexuality. Why do you have do that? Why do you have to use your sexuality to decrease your white privilege and turn this around into yet ANOTHER post about how ‘not all white people are bad?’ That is so offensive because it further proves your privilege, but it also is so hurtful to the LGBQT community. There are so many things wrong with that statement I don’t even know what to say other than goodbye.

You were singling out a race instead of singling out dumbasses, that is what I was commenting on. I used religion as an example of how you generalize white people just as some white people generalize muslims. I wasnt trying to garner any sympathy from you, I was stating a fact that because of my sexuality I do have disadvantages based on something, like a skin colour, that you cannot help or change, though youre disregarding that by being too busy pitying yourself. Im not defending myself, because I dont need to seeing how during this conversation I kept my words respectful, however you have seemed to misunderstand again and again, so Im glad we’re leaving it at that.

I still remember how my mother quietly cried while she spotted some “cartoons” of the Prophet (PBUH) on the internet. My father had tears too; He looked broken and humiliated. I still remember what he said while comforting mama: “I respect freedom of speech. It’s everyone’s right. But why do they present him in a light that is completely wrong and misunderstood? Why do they derive joy from it?” Some people are just so, so misguided and vile.

Ugh, the 2005 Muhammad drawings were from my country and it made me incredibly embarrassed. I love the fact that my country has freedom of speech, but I loathe how it’s used as an excuse to get away with offending whoever you’d like, and not as much as considering having any kind of respect for those itll affect in this matter.

“Its satire, they don’t understand our humour”, “It’s just a drawing”, “I don’t care”, “They are so oppressed!”

Ive heard this so many times, sigh. I believe freedom of speech and respect goes hand in hand, and this was an abuse of both.
